Mahlstedt Logistics
recently took delivery of 15 D-TEC Portmasters. The company from Delmenhorst
and Bremen, established in 1978, transports containers and is also specialist
in conventional and conditioned transport, heavy transport (machinery transport)
and paper transport. Mahlstedt has
connected the D-TEC Portmaster to its existing fleet management system for
supervision on all their vehicles. The system checks tyre pressures, Smartboard
(Wabco IVTM) and Idem Telematics. Mr. Mahlstedt chose the D-TEC Portmaster
"because of its low dead weight (4,580 kg) and flexibility. The result is a high loading capacity and low diesel
consumption".
Moreover, the chassis is
extremely stable and has a good weight distribution for various
container sizes from 20 to 45 ft. The Portmaster is also simple
to operate (without pneumatic sliding cylinder) and so can be easily and
quickly converted for the different container sizes. Maintenance costs are low
thanks to the robust chassis design. The use of high tensile steel gives the
D-TEC chassis a long lifetime and consequently a high residual value. All these
factors provide the lowest mileage costs. And after all, that is what a
transport company is looking for. Increase your profit!
